This program takes a look at the importance of understanding what it is you’re signing and introduces you to the impacts of signing contracts, agreements and forms without full knowledge of what they mean. You’ll learn what it takes to make an informed decision before your pen hits paper. You’ll achieve a sense of awareness about common contract issues that will help you spot and deal with them in the field or at the office. You’ll also learn about using contracts, releases and waivers to better protect you and your employer from liability.

This two hour program offers techniques that are proven to work when confronted with aggressive behavior. Session presenter, Rick Van Wickler has been working with aggressive behavior for over 23 years. His major goal is to keep conflict to a minimum and when it occurs, manage it to resolve at the earliest possible stages of development.

A Motor Vehicle Tool Kit Session

Federal law requires that certain employees with CDL’s be tested for drug and alcohol use and that supervisors receive at least one hour of training in recognizing substance abuse symptoms. This workshop will untangle the intricacies of substance abuse awareness for those who hire and manage vehicle operators.

The legal reality is this: case law and legislation are evolving more rapidly than ever in adjusting to social, political and economic change at the local, state and federal levels. A Hands-On Risk Management Program

Every year many police officers and other emergency services workers are injured or killed in vehicle crashes. Don’t let it happen to you! This day long, hands-on driving program will show you a wide range of simple but effective driving techniques that could save you or one of your co-workers from injury or death. Each participant will learn the limits of the vehicle, secrets of steering, braking, and handling, and how to avoid a variety of everyday driving.

This presentation will provide a high level overview of how the new auditing standards affect governmental entities, address the importance of the management letter (and implementing the requested changes), discuss internal controls and segregation of duties, and how these protect the entity, including immediately useful guidance on how you can achieve this without hiring numerous employees.

The century ahead will see a fundamental shift in employer/employee relations as organizations seek candidates from a shrinking market with the retirement of the massive baby boomer generation. Other contributing factors include declining birthrates and world population, lower retirement ages, extending or returning to education, and the increasing skill level required. In addition, four generations are in the workforce at the same time: Veterans, age 59 and over, Baby Boomers (1947-64), Gen-X (1961-72), and Echo Boomers, also known as the Nexus Generation (1972-90), each with diff erent attitudes and values with respect to work and life. These demographic shifts will profoundly impact public sector employers as they enter a “sellers” market with fewer skilled candidates than there are good jobs. Human resource management will be critical in the new millennium as organizations turn their focus to recruitment, retention of employees of all ages, succession planning, work-life balance, and career development. Attendees will gain an understanding of the formative infl uences shaping the diff erent generations and will examine possible sources of generational confl ict within the workforce.

Each participant will have the opportunity to meet individually with Primex³ staff to get specific formatting questions answered, and to have hands-on access to their own UC 2nd Quarter reporting file.
